Part 4 1/2

I know people…..u’ve been waiting for my blog and i also know some of you might have visited my own New York City.This question is an example of a universal truth and the answer is something which is very obvious.Example of a question based on universal truth is  “Is the ocean composed of water”……the answer is yes and no one can deny the fact…..so are u all geared up for the question…..This is for the people who have visited New York.

How is New York City?

The answer is BEAUTIFUL…and obviously its a universal truth.

Well………enough of my New York blah blah which is unending.Sooooo r u all wondering and thinking what this Part 4 1/2 is ….hehe i dont have much time today ….see my work is reflecting on my watch…..so i’m just posting a picture of my city.

Thats my Nature-Part4

TOP TEN reasons to get frustrated on the very first day of your job

1.The day before you start working,you take your niece and her friends to a circus and your new boss’s face keeps reminding you of the clown .

2.You step into the elevator and for the very first time in the history of the office the elevator gets stuck, stops in the 11th floor and you take the steps to reach the 15th floor.

3.You wanted to go to Zara  and shop for a few office wears but you end up going to Dunkin Donuts instead ,pick up a glazed donut and coffee, wear your Abercrombie shirt and jeans to the office and when your colleague asks you about the dress,you tell her that “America runs on Dunkin” which leaves her completely dazed.

4.You have to start working hard and almost overtime on the very first day of your job.

5.Your cellphone runs out of battery just when one of the publishing companies whose response you have been awaiting calls.

6. You still didnt find an excuse for not going to Hawaii with your best friend

7. After you go home you see a box of Lindt Truffles in the fridge which look insanely delicious but you aviod them as much as you can to stop gaining those extra calories for the day .

8. You send an email to your worst enemy who shares the same first name as one of your friends and later feel like hitting yourself for what you did.

9.You have an arguement with the person next door who is watching CNN news and at the same time shouting and cheering so loudly for one of the presidential nominees that your decorative glass piece on top of the door broke.

10.You already know that you have to get up early the next morning which I hate to do !!!!!!!! 

This was exactly how  my first day in the new office was.I know I got the job after many interviews and fortunately this boss had no problem with me being an envi engineer and this person doesnt even believe in collegedegrees and believes in creative ideas,so I dont need to be really scared about having a person like Mr.Caprio for a boss,well I think I like my brain and cant risk it for a research!

But now,lying on my bed and watching the most impressive sight in the world for me …”The NewYorkCity skyline” takes all the frustration out of me.Though I was born in Illinois,I always wonder what makes me like the city so much..so much that I chose NYU over many other good universities just not to move away from the city ,the shopping,the Starbucks,Sambuca’s cafe{i’m talkin about the one tucked away in Little Italy which has really good desserts but not the jazz cafe in Atlanta},All the flowers in Central park,the very first and last fight between Brooke,Dylan,Rian and me in my 6th grade{we never had a fight again}, My imagination of the unicorn in the magic tree house book being in the museum when I was a kid,All those rainy days of my high school when I walked down the streets in a trench coat..imagining myself to be a character in one of those big paintings I saw in the art exhibtion,My first amateur thoughts on nature,The day when the idea of writing a book struck during a rainy day on the Brooklyn bridge,All those people who walk down the streets steadily as if walking a little slower would make it impossible for them to grab a sight of a U.F.O,All those events in Madison square garden,The day before exam visits to Chinatown to buy chinese lucky charms………the list is endless.

Thats my NATURE-part3

Raindrops and Roses….. my mobile rang….thats my niece’s favourite song.It was Brooke,she said she would meet me in 20 minutes.She works as a development engineer for a Biomedical company and has a boss,Mr.Caprio, who in the near future could use her brain for research if she is late in submitting projects {their company deals with human-animal combinations for research}.Brooke wanted to be a computer engineer but she chose biomedicalengineering because she was keen about NYU. I always feel very satisfied because I did what I wanted to,specially the course in advertising after my graduation.I know that being an Envi engineer and to work for advertising is completely different but I realised in the last semester of my senior year at NYU that i couldnt imagine my self working as an engineer,now…dont laugh…I know its a late realisation but its better late than never.Then I took a course in advertising and u all know what happened with my interviews….I dont want to talk much about them cos i dont want to spoil my Purple mood.Are u wondering what a purple mood is?…well…Purple is my favourite color and i replace it with all the good words,so dont be surprised if I say ”I just ate a Purple Pizza”.Brooke came atlast after her so called 20 minutes ended, they always account to 30 minutes on my watch….I even went to the watch shop in 46th street and asked the person if my watch needs a repair but surprisingly the clock tower reads the same time as my watch does.Brooke got as excited as I got regarding my new job.She is a true friend and at times when she speaks whatever she wants to,she gets completely embarrassed.She told me that she has to go to Hawaii for a reserach on some poor marine creatures.She wanted me to come along with her,but I dont want to go and ask for a leave  in the very first week of my job because I dont have the patience to attend the 38th and a half interview.So I told her I would try,because I didnt want to disappoint her.These days Brooke is so involved in her work that she sometimes skips her lunch on weekends but she says she is better than the others  who got so immersed with their projects that they even started wearing animal prints….I hope this Hawaii trip relaxes her.We say bye to each other and I head towards the sub.Then I realise that I have to shop for a few formal office wears but..Naaah…not today cos I want to go home and book tickets for the Ringling circus…I promised to take my niece and 5 five of her friends to the circus and if I dont i’m pretty sure they will make me do a circus act for them.

Thats my NATURE!!! part-2

I hope this interviews clicks……am walking….there i see the office….i have to hurry cos there is not much time left for the interview.Finally i get into the elevator,i see faces again , there are like about 7 of them, a woman aged about 35 combing her shiny brown hair, a manwith a fierce face whose  expression reminds me of a duststorm we encountered on our trip to phoenix,a teenager speaking to someone on the phone,and an old couple, but the one who caught my sight was a little girl talking to her barbie doll and she wanted a reply from the doll and i started thinking again…..i thought the littlegirl resembled the innocent birds which see the cloudy sky …expecting it to rain and just like the birds get disappointed when it doesn’t rain…the little girl started getting disappointed and asked her mother to get a new doll which speaks….then i thought “poor birds cant ask for a new sky….especially the one’s in nevada and new mexico.”

I have to put my thoughts to an end because its 15th floor and thats where the office is.Keeping my fingers crossed i enter the office,I see a lady sitting in the reception,she asks me my name.{did i mention that i liked to be funny at times}, first i said “i’m alice and then i said, oh wait a minute…..then i checked my ID card and said “JelllllyMacaroni….i keep forgetting it,sorry ,my name is AlexRoso.You should have seen her expression, it was worth a million bucks…..well atleast a cup of starbucks.The lady asked me to wait for sometime and finally i went in.They asked me a few questions and …. SURPRISE !!! they wanted me to work for them…..i felt like bungee jumping from the Empire state building but all i could do was hop down the stairs …i didnt know what to do next.I felt like dancing down the street,but instead i called Brooke, my best friend.We both graduated from NYU last year but she majored in Biomedical engineering.Brooke is completely into biomedical stuff,unlike me ,an environmental engineer,who took a course in advertising after graduation and wants to write and publish books….but heyy…thats what i want to do!!

More of this to come….so just wait for the next part or maybe get a Peppermint Ice chocolate mocha from Starbucks…trust me …..it tastes so good

That’s my NATURE!!!!

Walking through the 42nd street in the city,i hardly have time to switch my cellphone off and go to the interview but i’m still thinking…thinking about the man at the corner of the street with his face painted ,standing there like a statue.There are passers by walking,too busy to think about anything else except their work,and there is me who has all the time in this world to think think and just think,about everything on this planet.I think about everything,though my thoughts are dominated mostly by things related to nature and people.I dont know when my ability of comparing people to Nature developed and i dont even know if people really think of this as an ability of mine because of the thirty six and a half interviews{the half interview refers to the one i had with mr.XXX”s advertisement agency where i walked out of the interview because Mr.XXX told me that i lacked the essential spark in creativity} ,only one fell in my mailbox and when i eventually landed up at their office,i was all pissed off when they told me i was going to work as an assistant to a junior who appeared to be a fresh graduate.I usually end up being mad at someone who doubts my creativity and this is not because of my overconfidence but because all the certificates in my room, 90 of them {i count them everyweek just to make sure imaginary creatures didnt steal them…..its a result of my extensive reading of fairy tales when i was a kid} some framed and most of them stacked away neatly in my locker tell me that i have creativity.Of these certificates ,the one i cherish the most is the New York City Association for Talented Kids Award which i got as a result of my creative essay on Nature and Human Nature where i had to describe people and thier different moods and compare them with nature.         

When you read this i know many people think that i would be better as a naturalist but i say No because its not that i dont want to conserve nature and its beauty but i want to do that in a different perspective, i want to conserve the nature through literature …..through books.My purpose of attending interviews was not to become a creative advisor or the idea chief of advertisements but to earn money for publishing my books.Well basically….I WRITE BOOKS!!!
